Omg you guys it’s finally #MerMay !! I haven’t participated in like 4 years but this year I’m gonna do a creepy-cute #MaryBlair style. Today’s prompt is Workers and this mermaid is def working hard at the aquarium show! 🧜🏻‍♀️🧜🏻‍♀️🧜🏻‍♀️ (Side note… I may have accidentally done research on how to be an aquarium mermaid IRL while looking up photos for this. It’s a real job!!! 😬)

 I Love Your Negative Thoughts 16x20 oil painting 

I used a limited palette for this one, only 3 colors: burnt sienna, ultramarine blue (my favorite), and white. I love painting with limited palettes as I love color mixing, plus it reduces toxicity as some colors are more toxic than others. Fun fact: siennas and ultramarine are non toxic! I also use walnut or linseed oil instead of turp or solvents these days and always, always wear gloves. I’ve been painting quite a bit the last few months, would you like to see more of them? This one will probably be for sale eventually but I haven’t decided yet. 🎨
