I'm going to try to post these every week. Life drawing is soooo helpful, even though it's super hard. Go to a coffee shop and draw people. They will move and wreck your poses, but that's what makes it challenging. And if they notice you're staring at them, draw that too!

When I was a kid, I moved a lot. I would get really nervous before starting at a new school, so I would pretend to be Joan Jett to build my confidence. She's a rock star who started her first punk rock band in her teens. I'd wear my black leather jacket and listen to her songs right before I walked in. I'd have issues with being rebellious but I definitely wasn't nervous anymore. I can never thank her enough for that.
